Late updates
I was on campus for 14 hours today. It isn’t crazy these days but I don’t sleep much. We’re finishing our shortened core courses and finals began today. I have two more next week. In addition to finishing our core classes, we’re starting our electives. I had international business and finance today and I start entrepreneurship tomorrow night. Needless to say it’s exhausting. At least this crazy workload only lasts for a few more days. By this time next week I’ll have finished my core finals and I’ll have the sweet schedule of classes only three days a week.
Even though we have a ton of studying to finish before next Tuesday, a big group of us took time off to bond at the Women in Business retreat last weekend. Each fall and spring the UW MBA WiB club rents a gorgeous house outside of Seattle. Last fall we stayed at a fantastic house on the water near Marysville. It was so nice that we decided to stay there again this spring. On Friday afternoon, a bunch of us carpooled up there and arrived around 5pm. We unloaded the car and broke out the snacks and wine. More and more groups arrived and we spent a wonderful evening drinking, eating, chatting, sitting on the deck and lounging in the hot tub. The next morning, we awoke to clear skies and the sounds of the water and birds. A few of us had to return to Seattle for an MBA-related meeting, but we were all back by 6pm. That night, many more people arrived and we had a campfire on the beach. We had a lot of new people including some brave men who were welcomed to WiB.
Anyway, even though our class has been really stressed out lately, we all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend on the water. I didn’t get much studying done, but I bonded with my classmates and got some fun memories out of it.
Oh, and we spotted some whales from the deck during breakfast on Sunday morning. Too cool!
Yes, it was a fun time.
Except those clown paintings were disturbing. Did you see those?
Yes, they were disturbing! I guess I blocked them out. Thanks. Thanks a lot.
