I finished my last final yesterday at 3:27pm. I had until 3:30. It was statistics and it was hard. However, I think it was hard for just about everyone. I was still a bit bummed about it because I’ve been doing well in Stats so far. Maybe the teacher will be generous with partial credit.

After our last final, all of the first years gathered in the MBA lounge for food, beer, and t-shirts. I was so beat I could hardly maintain my end of a simple conversation. After about 20 minutes, I grabbed my shirt and went home. After a two hour nap, I felt much better.

Last night, some of my classmates had a party for us. I showed up fashionably late and had a really good time. I kind of wish I’d gone drinking with the Korean students beforehand though. They seemed to be having the most fun. Oh well, there’s plenty more time to celebrate with soju.

I’d planned on being totally lazy today, but a power outage due to high winds knocked out our electricity around 8:30 am. Since we couldn’t get anything done at home and Danny needed to work, we went to the laundromat and took advantage of their free WiFi. I don’t know how much work Danny got done, but I did seven loads of laundry and had time to grab coffee at a nearby cafe. We went home at noon and the power was back on. We celebrated with Indian buffet for lunch and then returned home to not put away the laundry or do anything productive for the rest of the day. Well, at least I wasn’t productive.

So that ends my first quarter as an MBA. It was hard but it wasn’t horrible. I have some good friends and I know a lot more about accounting, economics, and time-management than I did before. Even though finals sucked, I’m looking forward to next quarter. Who ever says that about returning to work after a vacation?
