China China China

I just found out that I got into the UW Business School’s 2007 study tour to China. Yay! China was my first choice.

I was kind of worried about getting in since I’m not on the high-priority list of students who need a tour to graduate.

The other tours I could have chosen are India, Greece and Turkey, and Argentina. The Greece and Turkey one sounded cool too, but my first choice has always been China since my goal post-graduation is to work with companies in China and Japan and even possibly live in Asia.

Does anyone have tips for traveling in China? One of my friends mentioned that I should try a lot of the food but to make sure that it’s cooked thoroughly first.

Ohhh YEA !, Sarah!! I’m really excited for you, I believe that this is the most eXciting emerging market on the planet.

When exactly, will you be there?

    What an opportunity!

I’ll be there in mid-March during spring break. I think we’re going to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guilin. There are about 20 students per tour plus a couple of faculty members.

Jonathan forward me your blog. Fascinating. It is like re-living the days/events just passed:)

Anyway, I will put your blog on my site. Would you consider doing the same for me?

    Thanks!

    Hi Sarah,
Jonathan pointed me to your blog today. I had no idea three classmates were keeping blogs - good for you and where do you find the time :) . So, I am going to China too and am really psyched about it. It too was my first choice. I don’t have any specific post-grad aspirations at this point that include China, but perhaps will be involved in trade or banking with Chinese companies - we’ll see. Do you know who else is going from our class? I look forward to getting to know our leaders and learning more about China before the trip.

    Enjoy your Sunday, Liza
